Loyd Ray Hayes of Coweta, age 71, passed away peacefully, Friday morning, January 24, 2014 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. Loyd was born on April 11, 1942 in Coweta, OK and was the son of Roy Parker and Margaret (Campbell) Hayes. He and Billie Scott were married on May 29, 1970 in Coweta, OK. Loyd worked at Johnson Mattress Company as an upholsterer for 28 years. He then went to work at Asplundh Tree Expert Company for 2 years until he retired due to his health. He enjoyed fishing, bow fishing, hunting and watching TV. Loyd was a very social person and enjoyed talking to people. Loyd is survived by his wife of 43 years, Billie Hayes of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 sons, Bill Hayes & wife, Rhonda, of Haskell, OK and Chris Hayes of Coweta, OK; 1 daughter, Bonnie Christian & husband, Don, of Tulsa, OK; 3 grandchildren, Thomas Logan, Corey Hayes and Levi Hayes; 1 great granddaughter, Lexi Hayes; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Funeral services for Loyd are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Pallbearers are Bill Hayes, Corey Hayes, Jeff Ledford, Roy Ledford, Thomas Logan and Ernie Bruner.
