Louis Gene Raibourn, age 77, resident of Coweta, passed away peacefully at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Born on February 17, 1947, in Cushing, Oklahoma, Louis's life was marked by his unwavering integrity, his dedication to his family, and his love for the Lord.
Louis is survived by his loving wife, Vonda Raibourn, of their home in Coweta; his grandson, Ky Krusemark; his brothers, Larry and Lloyd Raibourn; his sisters, Lois Christopher and Lorene Almquist; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Alta Theta (Miller) Raibourn; his sister, Loretta Suthard; his brother, Robert Raibourn; and his grandparents, Jasper Dennis Raibourn and Martha Jane Tilley.
After completing his education with a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Central Oklahoma, Louis embarked on a successful career as a certified public accountant. His professional life was characterized by the same honesty and diligence that he applied to every aspect of his life.
Louis was a devout member of the Word of Life Church in Coweta, where he found great joy and fulfillment in his faith and church community. His interests were diverse and reflected his zest for life. He was an avid golfer, a passionate fan of football and basketball, and took great pleasure in tending to his yard. Music brought a special light into his life, and he often shared this love with those around him.
Above all, Louis was a man of deep faith. He was active in his church and dedicated to serving the Lord. His love for his church family was evident in the way he lived his life, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement.
In his life, Louis was a beacon of light and love, and though he will be greatly missed, his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of faith, family, and friendship will endure, a testament to a life beautifully lived.
Visitation for Louis will be held from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Word of Life Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. The service will follow at 1:30 PM, celebrating a life well-lived and a man well-loved. Louis will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
