Louis F. 'Louie' Murdock

Louis F. "Louie" Murdock, age 86, resident of Broken Arrow passed away on Saturday evening, April 11, 2015 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Catoosa, OK. Louie was born on February 4, 1929 in Coweta, OK to John Allen and Blanche N. (Higgins) Murdock. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He enlisted in the Army on December 21, 1946 and was honorably discharged on June 24, 1948. Louie and Carmen Murdock were united in marriage on April 1, 1950 and were married 55 years until she preceded him in death in 2005. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an Installer and Repairman for 33 years until he retired in 1983. He enjoyed metal detecting, gardening, reading and spending time outdoors. Louie is survived by his daughter, Connie Heflin and husband, Dennis, of Broken Arrow, OK; 3 sisters, Bonnie Braun of Houston, TX, Betty Brunetti and husband, Len, of Russellville, AR and Mary Ann Medlock of Claremore, OK; 2 grandchildren, Amber Hicks and husband, Gabe and Cassie Heflin; 2 great grandchildren, Reed Hicks and Emma Hicks; his sister-in-law, Opal Murdock of Coweta, OK; family member, April Clark of Dawsonville, GA; his dearest friend, Joyce Barrow; and other relatives. Louie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carmen Murdock, his son, Martin Daniel Murdock, 3 brothers, John Murdock, Victor Murdock and Joe Murdock and 2 sisters, Dollie Warford and Nellie Puckett. Viewing will be from 6 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Louie's life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa, OK with Rev. David Jones officiating.
