Louis Alfred Merciez

Louis Alfred Merciez, age 86, resident of Coweta, OK went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday morning, November 22, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Broken Arrow, OK. Louis was born on November 2, 1932 in Arma, KS to Mike and Lucille Ellen (Buset) Merciez. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg, KS. Louis married the love of his life, Sharon Jane (Jones) Merciez on June 10, 1961 in Chicopee, KS and they had two daughters, Michelle and Shannon. He worked at Kansas State College Reynolds Book Store and retired from Drysdales in the Accounting Office. Louis was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Coweta, OK. He enjoyed square and ball dancing, but most of all his family was his life and he enjoyed spending time with them. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Lucille Ellen Merciez and one nephew, Michael Walker. Louis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon Merciez of the home in Coweta, OK; two daughters, Michelle Merciez Green and husband, Jon of Broken Arrow, OK and Shannon Stokes and husband, Ron of Broken Arrow, OK; one sister, Elaine Walker of Pittsburg, KS; four grandchildren, Joshua Merciez, Marisa King, Annie Merciez and Kody King; four great grandchildren, Dylan Merciez, Avery Merciez, Hadley King and Hudson King; one niece, Beverly Marietta; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service that same evening at 7:00 p.m. at Brown Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Coweta, OK. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Pallbearers are Josh Merciez, Kody King, Ron Stokes, Jon Green, Dylan Merciez and Jake Marietta. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.
