Louene Fern (Perry) Horne

Louene “Fern” (Perry) Horne was born on December 4, 1942, in Barber, Oklahoma, and left this world to join the heavenly choir on Monday, November 13, 2023, in Catoosa, Oklahoma at the age of 80. Celebrated as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Fern's legacy will persist through the numerous family members and friends she cherished.

Fern was a proud graduate of Cave Springs High School in Bunch, OK, and furthered her education at Central Carolina Community College, earning her credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She devoted her career to Wake Medical Center, Saint Francis Hospital, and home health care, always upholding her passion for caring for others. This passion was also reflected in her personal life where she could often be seen crocheting beautiful gifts for her loved ones.

A devoted member of the Coweta Baptist Church, Fern's faith was an integral part of her life. She married the love of her life, Gilbert Horne, on December 24th, 1960, in Bunch, Oklahoma, and their love story served as a beacon for all who knew them.

Surviving to remember Fern's love and warmth are her three sons, Terry Horne (Frankie) of Coweta, OK, Ellis Ray Horne of Tulsa, OK, and Jerry Dean Horne (Lana) of Royersford, PA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and the blessing of two great-grandchildren on the way, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Fern's presence will undoubtedly be missed by all who know her.

Her life story is marked by the loving memory of those she joined in her celestial journey, including her husband, Gilbert Horne, her son, Darrell Gene Horne, her granddaughter, Amanda Horne, her grandson, Zachary Burris, and her sister and five brothers, who all preceded her in death.

Fern was characterized best by her charity and fervor. Her love for people and her passion for service allowed her to touch the lives of many. She nurtured relationships with open arms, and her comforting presence will continue to be cherished by all her loved ones.

Visitation for Fern will be held from 1:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta. A service celebrating Fern's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 27, 2023, The Assembly, Coweta, with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Fern will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
