Loretta M. Rundell

Loretta M. Rundell, age 88, resident of Nevada, Missouri (formerly of Coweta, Oklahoma) went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, August 24, 2022 at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, Missouri.  Loretta was born on September 18, 1933 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Pete and Gladys Marie (Gill) Sanders.  She attended elementary school at Prairie Glade School and graduated from Coweta High School.  After graduating, she attended Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  Loretta married the love of her life, Robert N. “Bob” Rundell on July 9, 1950 in Van Buren, Arkansas.  She worked for the Wagoner County Health Department as Family Planning Coordinator for over 40 years until she retired.  Loretta was a member of Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma, and a proud member of the Creek Nation.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, tole painting, and she loved spending time with her family.

Loretta is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Cole of Kansas; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Rundell of Owasso, Oklahoma; her grandson, Joshua Cole of Kansas; her granddaughter, Geneva Rundell of Owasso, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Rundell, her parents, Pete and Gladys Sanders, her son, Lee Rundell, her brother, Dwain Sanders, and her sister, Mary Arzella Buchanan.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Graveside services celebrating Loretta’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Shahan Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Lynn Moss officiating.
