Lonnie Earl Billings, Sr.

Lonnie Earl Billings, Sr., age 74, resident of Lawton, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma.  Lonnie was born on November 15, 1946 in Elk City, Oklahoma to James Marvin and Bonnie Bell (Lacey) Billings.  He received his education at Elk City Public Schools.  Lonnie married the love of his life, JoAnn Brown on June 6, 1975 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  He worked at Kan Haul Services as a shop foreman until he retired in 2003.  After retiring, he went to work for Lawton Public Schools in the cafeteria.  Lonnie was a member of the Square Toppers Square Dance Club.  He enjoyed gardening and he loved to watch Gunsmoke.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, JoAnn Billings of the home in Lawton, Oklahoma; five children, Janice Clanton and husband Kevin of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mark Billings of Lawton, Oklahoma, Chad Tate and wife Stephanie of Lawton, Oklahoma, Steven Tate and wife Jennie of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lonnie Billings, Jr. and wife Christina of Lawton, Oklahoma; eighteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Billings and wife Ginny of Fletcher, Oklahoma; one sister, Vera Maddox of Lawton, Oklahoma; a special niece, Kara James of Lawton, Oklahoma; and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, James Marvin and Bonnie Bell Billings.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Cameron Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Lonnie’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Cameron Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma with Pastor Matt Kelley officiating.  Lonnie will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Dale Sims, Al Bush, David Guttierez, Larry Thompson, Troy Brian, and Waylan Knapp.
