Lois I. Parks of Coweta passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2017 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home. She was 91 years old. Lois was born on December 12, 1925 in Lamont, OK. She was the daughter of Karl and Edith (Hardwick) Tebow. She graduated from Lamont High School in Lamont, OK in 1943. On June 20, 1943, she and Blaine M. Parks were united in marriage in Lamont, OK. Lois started her life's journey as a farmer's wife. In 1946, after moving to town she worked at the local drug store and later in a doctor's office. That inspired her to go back to school in Blackwell, OK to get her LPN license. She started that career working at Blackwell's General Hospital. In 1958, her family moved to Manchester, OK. She continued her nursing career working in Anthony, KS at their local hosptial and raising her three children. In 1971, she moved to Coweta, OK. In 1974, she started working at the Coweta Manor Nursing Home. After the death of her husband in 1995 she did volunteer work as a Grandmother in the Central Elementary School and Southside School in Coweta helping students and teachers. Her second year she was voted Grandmother of the year, 2003, in the State of Oklahoma. After 3 years she retired and started rocking babies at the ABC Learning Center in Coweta (formerly known as Lollipop Kids Day Care). This was her favorite job. Her hobbies included fishing and riding 4-wheelers. Lois is survived by 1 son, Gary Parks and wife, Lana of Argonia, KS; 2 daughters, Karla Caruth and husband, Clayton of Broken Arrow, OK and Cindy Olden and husband, Frank of Okay, OK; 2 brothers, Dwaine Tebow of Lamont, OK and Rex Tebow of Blackwell, OK; 7 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine, her parents and 1 brother, Lloyd Tebow. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating the life of Lois will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK with Tony Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
