Broken Arrow

Lloyd Dale Lindstrom, age 94, resident of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on December 26, 1929, in Pocahontas, IA to Elvin T. and Lottie E. (Muller) Lindstrom. Dale’s journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit of service.

Dale grew up in the heart of Iowa, where he graduated from Pocahontas County Class of 1947. His early years in the rural landscapes instilled in him a profound appreciation for the land and the community that he would carry throughout his life. After high school, Dale answered the call of duty and served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. His time in the military was a testament to his character and patriotism, values he would continue to embody long after his service.

Upon returning to civilian life, Dale embraced the life of a farmer, working the Iowa soil for over three decades. His love for farming was second only to the love he had for his family. On November 18, 1956, Dale married Patricia Jean Glidden in Rippey, Iowa. Their union of 67 years was a beautiful partnership that flourished over the years, blessed with three daughters who brought joy and pride to Lloyd's life.

Dale and Patricia eventually moved to Broken Arrow, OK, in 1984, where they continued to build a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Dale’s passion for creativity found expression in his woodworking and glasswork, hobbies that showcased his meticulous craftsmanship and artistic eye.

He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta, where his faith and fellowship with the congregation were sources of great comfort and strength. Dale’s commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to be a reflection of the love and grace he found in his beliefs.

Dale’s legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Patricia Jean Lindstrom, of their home in Broken Arrow, OK; his daughters, Debra DeMars (Peter) of Overland Park, KS, Sandra Nation (Dennis McGill) of Sioux City, IA, and Barbara Barela (Scott) of Coweta, OK; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Dale’s life was a tapestry of hard work, devotion, and enduring love—a life well-lived and a legacy that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Dr. Vern Charette officiating.
