Linda Jodene Clyburn was born on January 21, 1951 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
She grew up in Tulsa, graduated from Edison High School, went on to attend the University of Tulsa, followed by attending a nursing program.
Linda and Sandy raised their children in Claremore. She worked for Claremore Public Schools for 18 years, including helping children learn to read.
She loved being a military wife. She loved her family above all else. She always put others' needs before her own. She was a kind, calming, loving voice in a chaotic world. She appreciated the little things just as much as the big things. She hated being the center of attention. She was always busy behind the scenes, plotting to surprise a loved one. She loved music by the Carpenters. Linda died peacefully August 26, 2016.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents JT Roy Clyburn and Ruby Clyburn, and grandmother Neville Smoot.
Survived by husband Melton (Sandy), married 44 years; daughters Jennifer Winfield, Tiffany Sapp, and Christine Wingfield; granddaughters Alexis Winfield, Elizabeth Wickliffe, and Kaitlin Sapp. Brother Michael Clyburn and wife Rena, brother Tony Clyburn and wife Abbie.
Linda was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
