Linda Carolyn Day, age 82, resident of Coweta, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 31, 2025, at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 18, 1942, in Chase, Kansas to Alvin Dee and Ollie Marie (McCann) Casey. Linda's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joy that touched everyone she knew.
Linda's journey began in the small town of Chase, Kansas, where she attended school and blossomed into a kind-hearted young woman. Linda's warm smile and generous spirit were a beacon of light to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In 1959, Linda married Jack Brown, and together they welcomed four beautiful children into the world: Terry, Valorie, Robert, and Shirley. The family shared countless memories, and Linda's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply. After her marriage to Jack ended, Linda found love again and married Harold Day in 1978. Their union brought even more joy and companionship into her life.
Linda's professional life was marked by her time as a retail sales associate in the health and beauty sector. Her friendly demeanor and genuine care for others made her a favorite among customers and colleagues alike. Linda's hard work and dedication were evident to all who worked with her, and she continued to make a positive impact until her well-deserved retirement.
Outside of work, Linda's interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. She had a passion for gardening, where her hands would bring to life an array of colorful flowers and plants. Bowling nights were always a highlight, as were the moments she spent sewing and decorating, creating beautiful pieces and spaces that reflected her artistic flair.
Linda's life was also filled with the laughter and love of a large and close-knit family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Valorie and Terry Yungeberg; her grandchildren, Tracie Chick (Bryan), Heather Werner (Steven), Angie Yungeberg, April Ward, Ashley Roudybush (Aaron), and Amber Lee (Cody); her great-grandchildren, Colton Hawkins, Kristina Kydrick, Jordan Yungeberg, Payden Yungeberg, Bailey Werner, Damian Yungeberg, Dalton Werner, Kayla Eaton, Gwen Eaton, Jaxon Roudybush, Jace Ward, Asher Roudybush, Addyson Lee, Avery Lee, and Waylon Lee; and her great-great-grandchild, Katniss Eaton.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Harold Day; her parents, Ollie and Alvin Casey; her children, Terri Lynn Thompson, Robert “Bobby” Brown, and Shirley Kay Brown; her sisters, Delores “Dee” Joice and husband Ernie, Virgina “Ginny” Howey and husband Larry, and Thelma Goebel and husband Jerrol; her grandchildren, Allen Thompson and Tina Lynn Hawkins; and her great-grandchildren, Cody Hawkins and Emery Ward.
