August 11, 2011 Leslie John McCartney, age 86 years, 1 month and 15 days, entered eternal life October 20, 2008 in Owasso. He was born September 6, 1922 in Clarks-Mills, PA to John Elmer and Kathleen (Thompson) McCartney. Leslie served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Gunner's Mate on a ship protecting convoys. He married Twila Jean (Smith) in 1945 at Mercer County, PA. He worked many years as a machinist at Auto Crane and retired in 1988, was a charter member of Christview Christian Church, enjoyed vegetable gardening, watching pro wrestling, bowling, seeing steam tractor shows, "chewing the fat" and reminiscing. He was preceded in death by his wife and is survived by his loving children: Linda Louise McCartney, Alan McCartney and Cheryl Lasha, all of Tulsa; brother Lyle McCartney of Galesburg, IL; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-
