Lena Magar

Lena "Elizabeth" Magar, age 88, long-time resident of Owasso, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 27, 2010 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. She was born on January 10, 1922 in Batesville, AR to James Hiram and Lena Frances (Jones) Magar. Elizabeth was a loving and caring person. She was a very charitable lady and loved helping people out. Elizabeth attended Coweta High School. She worked as a secretary for MCC Centerline in Tulsa, OK for 51 years until she retired in 1993. Elizabeth attended Victory Christian until her health failed. She was an avid reader and was an exceptionally good candy maker. She enjoyed gardening and she especially loved her cats. Elizabeth is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Ann Kersey of Tulsa, OK, Doris Vaughn of Porter, OK, Joan Rudolph and husband, Mike, of Foyil, OK, Jim Copeland and wife, Shin, of Tulsa, OK, Glenn Kersey and wife, Judy, of Oologah, OK, Frances Bohl and husband, George, of Foyil, OK, David Magar, and Terri White of Owasso, OK; one sister-in-law, Helen Magar of Ellsworth, IA; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and other relatives. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Leonard Pirtle officiating.
