Services celebrating the life of L.C. Goodson will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 with the family present to receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Brown Family Funeral Home. L.C. Goodson, age 85, longtime Coweta resident went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK with his wife at his side. L.C. was born on January 30, 1933 in Stigler, OK and was the son of Richard C. and Bertha (Hurst) Goodson. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea. L.C. enlisted in the Army on April 30, 1953 and was honorably discharged on April 28, 1955. He married the love of his life Janet D. (Poindexter) Goodson on May 5, 1989 in Eureka Springs, AR. L.C. worked at General Telephone Company as a Lineman for 33 years until he retired in 1989. He had a passion for roping and was a champion team roper. He was a member of the American Legion Post 226 in Coweta, the Broken Arrow Elks Lodge 2673 and the Coweta Round Up Club. L.C. is survived by his wife, Janet Goodson of the home in Coweta, OK; four children, Leslie Dabrowski and husband, Rob of Jefferson City, OR, Tony Goodson and wife, Vicki of Broken Arrow, OK, Steve Goodson of Tulsa, OK and Christine Hines and husband, Bobby of Richmond, VA; six grandsons, Greg Goodson, Quinton Goodson, Morgan Goodson, Hunter Hines, Carson Hines and Roger Hines; one granddaughter, Mia Napier; two great grandsons, Coleman and Connor Goodson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. L.C. was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bertha Goodson, two brothers, R.B. Goodson and Jackie Ray Goodson and one sister, Billie Sue Coonfield. Pallbearers are Greg Goodson, Quinton Goodson, Morgan Goodson, Rick Helm, Chris Goodson and Jim Bob Dickson. Honorary Pallbearers are Roy Few, Larry Hill and Dan Willis.
