LaVon Marilynn Hoefer, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2023 at The Villages at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma. LaVon was born on March 20, 1941 in Waynoka, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Homer Henry and Lois Edna (Hinderliter) Curtis. She was a 1959 graduated from Cherokee High School. LaVon married the love of her life, Roger Roy Hoefer on August 21, 1960, in Alva, Oklahoma. LaVon attended cosmetology school where she received her cosmetology license. Lavon was a beautician for many years until she retired. She was a faithful member of the First Christion Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She loved doing crafts of all sorts, including sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Lavon never let a day go by that she didn’t read her daily devotion. Her love for God was evident in how she loved and cared for her family and those around her. LaVon was loved by many. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends, and all that knew her.
Lavon is survived by her husband, Roger Hoefer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her son, Ron Hoefer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her daughter, Reesa Lacher and husband Henry of Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Hank Lacher and wife Alyssa, Lucas Lacher, Jake Lacher and Fiona Battersby, Shaughnessy Hoefer, and Ania Hoefer; one great-granddaughter, Luna Lacher; her sister, Laureen Gantz and husband Roger Gantz of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
LaVon was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lois Curtis, and her brother, Dennis Curtis.
Services celebrating LaVon’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at First Christian Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
