Lavell P. Rowland

Lavell P. Rowland, age 100, lifelong Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday morning, December 22, 2018 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. Lavell was born on July 6, 1918 in Coweta, OK to Almos and Rose (Sanders) Kelley. She married the love of her life, Carl Edmon Rowland on November 3, 1935 and they had three children, Karlee, Michael and Ophelia. Lavell worked as a nurse aide for many years until she retired. She was a faithful and longtime member of the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, quilting, walking, cooking and she loved her Saturday morning breakfast with her family. Lavell is survived by her daughter, Ophelia Wilson of Coweta, OK; seven grandchildren, Lynn Price and wife, Justina, Lance Arnesen, Zane Wilson, Darcy Wilson-Henry and husband, Chris, Rowland Wilson and wife, Zipporah, Craig Southern and wife, Amanada and Brady Southern and wife, Heather; fifteen great grandchildren, Josh, Mickey, Adam, Bailey, Jodi, Brandon, Chasidy, Olivia, Ainslee, Avalon, Avery, Axton, Rylee, Ella and Jack; seven great-great grandchildren, Mary, Rachel, Amaya, Rhett, Maliyah, Brookelynn and Brinlee; her son-in-law, Van Cannon; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lavell was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edmon Rowland, her parents, Almos and Rose Kelley, one daughter, Karlee Cannon, one son, Michael Rowland, four brothers, Steve, Al, John and Charlie and four sisters, Fern, Carble, Nona and an infant sister. Viewing will be from 12:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 with the family present from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A graveside service celebrating Lavell's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating. Pallbearers are Dwight Claxton, Larry Brown, Ed Rutherford, Ted Sewell, Jim Howard and Bert Elliott. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.
