Kristin Lynn Lydens, age 49, passed away at her home in Coweta, OK, on Sunday, August 11, 2024. She was born on September 7, 1974, in Wichita, KS to Timothy Leo Fox and Rhonda Kathryn Sherrod. Kristin was a beacon of joy and strength to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family, her dedication to her career, and her passion for life's simple pleasures.
She was a 1993 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, KS, where she first showcased her athletic talents and team spirit. Kristin's academic and athletic talent led her to further her education at Cowley County Community College in Ark City, KS, followed by the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma in Chickasha, OK, and finishing at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, where she earned a master’s degree of science. Her commitment to excellence was evident in all her endeavors.
Kristin's love story with her husband, Edward Otis Lydens, Jr., was one for the ages. They married on January 25, 2003, in Tulsa, OK, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect until his passing in 2022.
Kristin's heart was most full when she was with her two daughters, Kamryn and Karsyn, who were the light of her life. Kristin and Ed instilled in them the values of hard work, kindness, and the importance of family. Their love for sports, particularly volleyball and softball, which Kristin played in high school and college, was a joy they shared with their daughters, often watching them play with pride and excitement. Kristin also contributed to the sports community as a player and coach for the United States Volleyball Association and the Broken Arrow Volleyball Club (BAVC).
Professionally, Kristin was known for her meticulous work as an accounts payable specialist at DME Express. She also served her community with dedication as an HOA Association Manager.
She is survived by her daughters, Kamryn and Karsyn Lydens of Coweta, OK; her mother and stepfather, Rhonda Sherrod and husband Larry of Wichita, KS; her father and stepmother, Timothy Fox and wife Linda of Wichita, KS; her siblings, Kyle Fox and wife Bethany of Benton, KS, Tessia Cary of Wichita, KS, Steve Sherrod of Augusta, KS, Bridget Rohlman and husband Zane of Wichita, KS, Brenden Fox and wife Katlyn of Wichita, KS, Emma Fox of Wichita, KS, and Alayna Fox of Wichita, KS; her father-in-law, Edward O. Lydens, Sr. of Coweta, OK; her sister-in-law, Angie Kemp and husband Tim of Coweta, OK; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Kristin was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Otis Lydens, Jr., and her mother-in-law, Rita Lydens.

A memorial service celebrating Kristin’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024 at BattleCreek Church – Jenks Campus, 2101 W. 118th St. S., Jenks, OK 74037.
