Kevin "Mark" McMillin was born November 21, 1959, in Pittsburg, Kansas. His family later moved to Tiawah, Oklahoma, and he graduated from Inola High School in 1977. In July of 1977 he married his high school sweetheart, Viki Opela, and they had two sons. He was later married to Toy McMillin and they had one daughter. In July of 2011 Mark and Viki were re-married and they made a home in Coweta until his death on October 22, 2022.
From a young age Mark was an outdoorsman and loved sports. He lettered in high school football and baseball. He loved spending time with his family, from the early years with his parents and older brother and younger sister on through later in life with the family he created. Mark loved big and was deeply loyal. He showed up for his people. His favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting and he enjoyed raising great hunting dogs. He was a hardcore Kansas City Chiefs fan but also spent many hours watching NASCAR and traveling with his family. After graduating from Okmulgee Tech School, Mark pursued what would be a successful career which led him to be the Director of IT with ONEOK at the time of his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Viki McMillin; son, Michael and wife Dara of Mustang, OK; son, Adam and wife Jessica of Salina, KS; daughter, Tory Locken and husband Donald of Oologah, OK. He is also survived by his mother, Jacqueline McMillin of Coweta, OK; sister, Jill White and husband Brent of Broken Arrow, OK; 9 grandchildren, Kiera, Easton, Elliana, Elijah, and Kalden McMillin, Jaxon McMillin, Laneigh, Gunner and Lily Locken; 2 nephews, Joshua and Jordan and a niece Breana along with their spouses and children. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, and his brother, Mike.
A memorial service celebrating Mark’s life will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Rev. Brent White officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mark to the Joey Logano Foundation, www.joeyloganofoundation.com/donate-now/ . Joey Logano is a NASCAR champion and drives the No. 22 car.
