Katy Mae Davis

Katy Mae Davis, age 81, of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, August 12, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Katy was born on July 19, 1936 to Vester Odell Hall and Blanche Mae Harris in Tulsa, OK. She was a 1954 graduate of Coweta High School. Katy worked at the Coweta High School as the principal's secretary for 23 years until she retired in 1998. Before working at the high school she wrote articles, called Katy's Korner for the Coweta Times-Star Newspaper for many years. Katy married the love of her life, M.D. "Red" Davis on June 4, 1954 in Coweta, OK. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, cooking, painting and going to flea markets. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Katy was preceded in death by her husband in 2005, M.D. "Red" Davis, her mother and step-father, Blanche and Louis Dobbins, her father, Vester Odell Hall and 1 sister, Barbara Jean Hall. Katy is survived by 1 daughter, Durinda Kay Keys and husband, Jack of Claremore, OK; 1 son, Scott Dale Davis of Coweta, OK; 5 grandchildren, Kaylynn Smith and husband, Ryan, Kayse Conner and Lenny Graves, Josh Keys and wife, Jessie, Dalton Davis and fiancé, Chloe Swaim and Alyx Ayn Calvert and husband, Eric; 4 great grandchildren, Rustin Smith, Johnny Conner, Ashtin Conner and Jaxtin Keys; and numerous other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM. Services celebrating Katy's life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Josh Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Josh Keys, Dalton Davis, Rustin Smith, Johnny Conner, Eric Calvert and Ronnie McGill.
