Kathy Jean Day, age 61, resident of Porter entered into the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at her home in Porter, Oklahoma. She was born on October 30, 1961, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Stanley Drywater and Joy (Allison) Carver. Kathy was a beacon of light and laughter to all who knew her. Her unwavering love and dedication to her family and friends will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Kathy attended Coweta Public Schools in Coweta, Oklahoma. Later in life, she devoted her time and energy to being a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming environment for her loved ones. Kathy was known for her infectious smile and her ability to find joy in even the smallest moments.

One of Kathy's greatest passions was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She took great pride in their accomplishments and eagerly attended their various events and activities. Her love for her family was evident in her unwavering support and encouragement, as well as her ability to make each person feel special and cherished.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Christie Johnson and husband Jimmy of Porter, Oklahoma; her mother, Joy Carver of Porter, Oklahoma; her father, Stanley Drywater and wife Marvene of Wagoner, Oklahoma; her sister, Sandra Burkett and husband Chris of Porter, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Sunnie Shafer and husband Dereck, John Turner and wife Kaleigh, and Tonie Turner; four step-grandchildren, Dalton Johnson and wife Misti, Lacey Harrell and husband Justin, Tyler Johnson, and Tiffany Lopez and husband Francisco; numerous great grandchildren; her nephews, Jerrid Burkett and Stanley Burkett; her niece, Jessica Burkett; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Johnny Day, Jr.; her step-father, Johnny Carver; her brother, Tommy Drywater; her step-son, Spencer Day; and her maternal grandparents, Custer and Fannie Allison.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma with the family present from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. Services celebrating Kathy’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Kathy will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
