Julie M. Mullen of Wagoner passed away on Monday, June 25, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 71 years old. Julie was born on November 6, 1935 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Roy and Josie (Dykes) Murray. She received her education in the Coweta school system. She and Arthur Mullen were united in marriage on November 8, 1954 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Julie worked at Porter Public School as a custodian for sixteen years until her retirement in 1995. She also worked at Coweta Manor Nursing Home as a nurses aid for three years. Julie was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Porter. Her hobbies included fishing and watching car races. Survivors include two sons, Gary Mullen of Porter and Tommy Mullen and his wife, Tracie, of Wagoner; one brother, LeeRoy Murray of Broken Arrow; one sister, Betty of Dallas, Texas; six half brothers, Ray Edward Murray of Tahlequah, Billy Murray of Oklahoma City, Ellis Murray, Roy Murray, Jr., Charles Murray, and Mitchell Murray all of Wagoner; two half sisters, Shirley Thayer of Wagoner and Linda Anderson of Westville, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Terry Mullen, two brothers, Jesse and Losey Murray, two half brothers, and one half sister. Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Greenwood Cemetery in Porter with Reverend Bobby Jenkins officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
