Juanita was born in Cherry Hill, Arkansas on May 26, 1932, to Jack and Clemmie Martin and was the second of their five children. She grew up in Cherry Hill, Arkansas, before marrying James and moving to different locations, including internationally, during his long military career.

During these travels, and afterward, “Sister Wiles” continued her life of service, as she and her husband were pastors of Assemblies of God churches in Arkansas and Texas before retiring in 1998 to move to Tulsa to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

She was a natural entertainer, an experienced musician, ventriloquist, and had a special love for engaging children and young people. She was a positive influence in many young lives.

She was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and had recently been recognized for more than 50 years in that service to her faith.
