Joyce Faye Self

Joyce Faye Self, age 91, longtime resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of Friday, December 10, 2021 at Saint Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Joyce was born on September 2, 1930 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Donald and Clara Susan (Mashburn) Francy. Joyce married the love of her life, Robert L. Self on December 24, 1947 in Coweta, Oklahoma.  She was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her home and family.  Joyce was a faithful and longtime member of the Thomas Community Church.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Robert Self, Jr. “Bob” and his wife Trudy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, James Self “Jim” and his wife Annetta of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jeanne Graham and her husband Keith of Inola, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, Daniel Self, Kenny Walker and his wife Sheila, Lori Rosser Bridgewater, Alesia Posey and her husband Jeremy, Jerod Self and his wife Amber, Jake Self and his wife Shaylee, Jennifer Tucker and her husband Scott, Jessica Graham, Audra and Lori Graham, and Sarah Graham; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Wayne Francy and his wife Jeanette of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her two sisters, Wanda June Bryan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Nancy Ella Lemon of Russellville, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Self, her parents, Donald and Clara Susan Francy, her daughter, Patricia Rosser, two grandchildren, Joseph Franklin Self and Melody Camille Self, and her brother, Robert Francy.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Joyce’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Thomas Community Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Pastor Charlie Jamison officiating.  Joyce will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Robert “Bob” Self, Jr., Jim Self, Keith Graham, Jerod Self, Jake Self, and Kenny Walker.  Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Self, Leon Graham, Jeremey Posey, and Scott Tucker.
