Jon Duane Grandstaff, Sr.

Jon Duane Grandstaff, Sr., age 57, resident of Sand Springs, OK passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Jon was born on February 13, 1961 in Tulsa, OK and was the son of Ermy Joe Grandstaff, Sr. and Patty Lou (Carder) Grandstaff. He was a 1979 graduate of Charles Page High School in Sand Springs. Jon was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He enlisted in the Air Force on July 30, 1979 and was honorably discharged on April 21, 1983. Jon married the love of his life, Lora Ellen (Ashcraft) Grandstaff on April 10, 1987 in Sand Springs. He worked for Enterprise Holdings as a Commissions Representative. Jon was an avid OU and Dallas Cowboys football fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his two grandsons and he loved making people laugh. Jon is survived by his wife, Lora Grandstaff of the home in Sand Springs, OK; two sons, Cody Wayne Grandstaff and fiancé, Amanda Hakey of Sand Springs, OK and Jon Duane Grandstaff, Jr. of Louisiana; one brother, Ermy Joe Grandstaff, Jr. of Arkansas; one sister, Stephanie Howell and husband, Dr. Richard Howell of Edmond, OK; two grandsons, Lane Dylan Grandstaff and Mason Dean Swafford-Grandstaff; and numerous other relatives and friends. Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Ermy Joe Grandstaff, Sr. and Patty Lou Grandstaff. Viewing will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Jon's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Mohawk First Baptist Church in Tulsa, OK with Rev. Emanuel L. Collier, Sr. officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. Pallbearers are Camran Durham, Mikkel Hope, Derek Soles, Kyle Soles, Matt Soles and Mark Ashcraft. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.
