Johnny Hughes

Johnny F. Hughes, age 68, of Coweta passed from this life on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on December 27, 1941 in Broken Arrow, OK to Marion T. and Alene (Wilson) Hughes. Johnny was a loving husband, dad, brother, and grandfather to his family. He attended school in Coweta, OK and graduated from Coweta High School in 1959. Johnny joined the United States Army on February 25,1961 and was honorably discharged on March 11, 1964. He and Barbara Gilbert were married on May 5, 1967 in Oneta, OK. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and he was an avid reader. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents. Johnny is lovingly survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; one son, Brian Hughes and his wife, Kristi, of Coweta, OK; one brother, Bob Hughes and his wife, Denette of Coweta, OK; one granddaughter, Megan Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Jones officiating.
