Johnny Lee Carver, age 71, resident of Porter, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, February 22, 2022 at his home in Porter, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Johnny was born on January 17, 1951 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Lester A. and Bernice (Acree) Carver. He attended Coweta Public Schools. Johnny married the love of his life, Joy Allison on April 6, 1996 in Coweta, Oklahoma. He was a machinist at Auto Turn Manufacturing for many years before retiring. After retiring, he flipped houses and loved building antique vehicles. Johnny enjoyed working outside, cows, team roping, watching NASCAR, and he loved spending time with his family.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Joy Carver of the home in Porter, Oklahoma; three daughters, Kathy Day and her husband John, Sandra Burkett and her husband Chris, and Christie Johnson and her husband Jimmy, all of Coweta, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Christie Johnson and her husband Jimmy of Coweta, Oklahoma, Jessica Burkett of Coweta, Oklahoma, Jerrid Burkett of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Stanley Burkett of Okemah, Oklahoma; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Carver and his wife Tina of Georgia; five sisters, Donna Bratton of Claremore, Oklahoma, Ann Carver of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Bonnie Davis of Texas, Juanita Nichols of Louisiana, Becky Satterfield of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Penny Jarman of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tommy Drywater; two brothers, Freddy Carver and Bill Carver; and two sisters, Linda Grooper and Carol Sue Garrison.
Visitation will be from 12:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma with the family present to receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM. Services celebrating Johnny’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Coweta Assembly in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Johnny will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers are Jerrid Burkett, Stanley Burkett, Donnie Steelmon, John Turner, Derek Shafer, and Tyler Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Burkett, Jimmy Johnson, and Jeff Stuck.
