Johnnie Sue Brians, age 80, longtime Coweta resident departed this life on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Cedarcrest Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK. Johnnie was born on May 3, 1939 in Braggs, OK and was the daughter of John and Ruby (Barnett) Risenhover. She was a 1957 graduate of Central High School in Muskogee, OK. In 1959, Johnnie married the love of her life, Kenneth Lee Brians and together they had three children, Scott, Karen, and Kenneth. She worked as a Manager at Trade Winds Hotel in Muskogee and she and Kenneth owned Plaza Club in Coweta for 15 years. Johnnie was also a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed going to sporting events, talking on the phone with her friends, and she was involved with the Booster Club. She was a generous and loving person who genuinely loved everyone, never met a stranger, and always had a smile on her face. Johnnie is survived by three children, Scott Brians and wife Martha of Coweta, OK, Karen Brians of Tulsa, OK, and Kenneth Brians of Leonard, OK; one granddaughter, Kandice Brians of Broken Arrow, OK; two great grandchildren, Adryen Coker and Koraline Coker; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Brians in 1993; her parents, John and Ruby Risenhover; one brother, John Risenhover; and one sister, Joyce Ann Allen. The service celebrating Johnnie's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ed Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Viewing will be from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Kirby Brumble, Marvin Winters, Danny Hamilton, Kent Blair, Brian Wheeler, and Kevin Baker. Honorary Pallbearers are Vance Mumn, Johnny Dobbins, Dennis Barlow, Mike Woodward, and Harlan Wheeler. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.
