Johnathon LaKeith Smith departed this life on August 7, 2010 at the age of 37 years. He was born on April 5, 1973 in Miami, Florida. He leaves behind his mother, Hattie Mae (Carter) Smith of Georgia and his father, Eugene Alvin Smith, Jr. of Orlando, Florida to cherish his memories. Being the son of a military father he lived many places as a child and young adult. He was a High School graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High and he later attended ITT Institute of Maitland, Florida and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in 2002. Shortly after graduation he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he met his wife. Johnathon was employed with Century Geophysical Corporation as an electronic assembler for a number of years and enjoyed what he did. He previously worked for Geophysical Research Company from 2005 until 2007 as an electronic assembler and supervisor. He also previously worked for Thales Navigation from 2003 until 2004 as a test technician. Johnathon enjoyed barbeques, camping, spending time with his children by coaching their football and soccer games, and of course watching his favorite sports teams. Miami Heat and my Dolphins as he said. He also enjoyed nice relaxing weekends hanging out with his family and friends. He is also survived by his wife, LaTasha Annette (Wright) Smith, married on November 28, 2004. Together they raised three sons, Alvertis age 17, DeAngelo age 16, and Jamal age 13 and one daughter, Jada Marie age 3, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Previous wife was Erica Cason and from that union they had three children, Asjia age 18, Ashante age 11, and Adarius age 10, all of Killeen, Texas. He also leaves another daughter, Aysha age 18 of Tacoma, Washington. In addition he leaves behind two brothers, Eugene Smith and wife, Dawn of Miami, Florida and Zebedee Smith age 16 of Orlando, Florida, and one sister, Veisha Smith of Georgia. Also his maternal grandfather, Johnny Walker of Miami, Florida, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and his paternal grandparents. A memorial service for Johnathon will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Garnett Assembly of God, 2930 S. Garnett Rd., Tulsa, OK. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to Johnathon's family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
