John Richard 'Jr.' Snelson

John Richard "Jr." Snelson, age 87, lifelong Coweta resident passed away on Tuesday evening, August 11, 2015 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Jr. was born on December 23, 1927 to Richard and Clemmie (Sloat) Snelson in Coweta, OK. He and Eunice Lucille Hunter were married on September 16, 1943. Jr. worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a Machinist for 30 years until he retired. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta. Jr. is lovingly survived by his wife, Eunice Snelson of Coweta, OK; 3 daughters, Shirley Knowles and husband, Doyal, of Tulsa, OK, Bev Hausam and husband, Ray, of Coweta, OK and Treva Snelson of Catoosa, OK; 2 sisters, Ella Dykes of Coweta, OK and Burna Turnbow of Coweta, OK; 1 grandson, Devin Hausam and wife, Netta, of Haskell, OK; 1 great granddaughter, Tatum Terry and husband, Brett, of Coweta, OK; 3 great-great grandchildren, Austin, Ben and Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be from 12 PM - 8 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral services celebrating Jr.'s life will be at 10 AM on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK with Pastor Larry Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. James Snelson, Brian Peterson, Gary Snelson, Martin Turnbow, Bob Dykes and Johnny Snelson will serve as Pallbearers.
