August 13, 2011 John Roberson, Sr. was born on April 21, 1926 in Benton, LA to the late Arthur Roberson and Hessie L. Roberson. John entered eternal life May 1, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Lillian, Lula and Easter; and brother Arthur, Jr. He attended school in Boynton, OK and graduated from Macalester College in St.Paul, MN in 1953 with a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Science Education. He resided in the Twin Cities, MN area until the 1970s, when he relocated to Oklahoma; living in Boynton and then Tulsa. He served in the Armed Services (U.S .Army, 372nd Infantry) during the Second World War, and was stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ and then Kauai, HI. John had an entrepreneurial spirit and was self-employed for most of his life. In Minneapolis, MN his company Landscaping Services provided landscape design and maintenance for both residential and commercial properties. In Oklahoma he started another business, Home Repairs. Always a hard worker, he enjoyed relaxing and keeping up with current affairs in his free time. He is survived by two children: John Roberson, Jr. of Minneapolis, MN and Loriann Roberson of New York, NY; brothers: Raymond Roberson of Shreveport, LA, Joe Roberson and his wife Faye of Tulsa, OK and Russell Roberson and his wife Karen of Pasadena, CA; sister Nellie Steward of Tulsa; and a host of nephews and nieces.
