John Clemons

John Samuel Clemons, age 54, life-long resident of Coweta passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. John was born on November 5, 1958 in Tulsa, OK and was the son of John Alec and Bessie Pauline (Collins) Clemons. John was a 1977 graduate of Coweta High School. John worked at Holly Equipment as a Mechanic for 20 years until he retired in 2009. He was a member of the Youth Bowfishing Association. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing yard work and teaching bowfishing and hunting. He also loved telling stories and spending time with his family and grandchildren. John is survived by his 3 daughters, Holli Massey and husband, Floyd, of Coweta, OK, Jennifer Curtis and husband, Brian, of Coweta, OK and Jonna Clemons and fiancé, John Chaisson, of Claremore, OK; his sister, Susan Wallace of Crystal Springs, MS; 6 grandchildren, Cole Clemons, Chase Carter, Carly Carter, Kenadi Carter, Brynlee Curtis and Emma Chaisson; 2 nieces; other relatives and a host of friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Alec and Bessie Pauline Clemons and a granddaughter, Harleigh Carter. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Bobby Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Greg Henagar, Brandon Taber, Jason Young, Rex Shieldnight, George Foster and Brian Woodward. Honorary Pallbearers are Cole Clemons, Chase Carter, Floyd Massey, Randy Woodward, Dale Peck, Brian Curtis and John Chaisson.
