Joe Allen Bolin, age 70, resident of Box Elder, South Dakota departed this life on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Regional Health Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. Joe was born on August 30, 1948 in Muskogee, OK and was the son of John and Eva Helen (Wilbourn) Bolin. He came from a very humble beginning. He was the oldest son of 11 children. In 1969, Joe married Wilma (Mullins) Bolin and to this union were born 2 children, Johnny and Melissa. In the fall of 1976, he lived in Bismarck, North Dakota and worked for a roofing company. He met and married Deborah Broden in 1979. To this union were born 3 children, Eric, Shanna and Ryan. He moved to Alaska in 1978 where he worked on the North Slope and eventually became a certified welder. In 1981, the family moved back to North Dakota and settled in Dickinson. Joe became certified in the operation of Heavy Equipment from Dickinson State University and worked in that field for a short time. He then started working as a welder and started his own welding business until he retired. After retirement, he moved to South Dakota. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, water sports, and classic cars. Joe is survived by 4 children, Melissa Travis, Eric Bolin, Shanna Urban and husband, Chris, and Ryan Bolin and wife, Josefine; 3 grandchildren, Cody Bolin, Skyler Bolin and Ashley Travis; 1 great granddaughter, Kyleigh Rose; his companion, Michelle Dvorak; 9 siblings, Harriette McCollough, Gayle Boyd, Patricia McKeenny, Charles Bolin, Bill Bolin, Gwennette Hopper, David Bolin, Teresa Shea, and Jimmy Bolin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Helen Bolin, 1 son, Johnny Bolin, and 1 brother, John Paul Bolin. Viewing will be from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Joe's life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Pallbearers are Eric Bolin, Ryan Bolin, Shanna Urban, Chris Urban, Cody Bolin, and Skyler Bolin.
