Broken Arrow

Joanna Lee Smith, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at her home in Broken Arrow, OK, on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born on November 18, 1959, in Tulsa, OK to Edwin Earl and Sharon Lee (Knight) Cameron. Joanna's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her passion for the simple pleasures in life, and her kind-hearted spirit.

Joanna graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1978. Her career in sales at Atwoods spanned many years, where she was known for her friendly demeanor and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

On January 19, 1985, Joanna married the love of her life, Robert Smith, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. Although Robert preceded her in death, Joanna found companionship and joy with her special friend, Scott Mount, until his passing in 2021.

Joanna's life was a testament to her love of family. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Mendoza; her sons, Ryan Smith and Ethan Smith; her treasured granddaughter, Addy Mendoza; her brother, Eddie Cameron, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss her deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith, her parents, Eddie and Sharon Cameron, and her special friend, Scott Mount.

A woman of many interests, Joanna found joy in the simple things. She was an avid fisher, often spending tranquil hours by the water's edge. Her love for reading transported her to countless worlds, while her hands were skilled at working puzzles and tending to her garden. Joanna's love for her granddaughter, Addy, was fierce and pure, and she cherished every moment spent playing and exploring the world through Addy's eyes.

Joanna's home was a haven for animals, and she shared her life with her beloved pets Chuck, Rocky, Bailey, Wilma, Pearl, Sassy, and Steve, as well as her goats and rabbits. Her love for animals was just another facet of her nurturing and compassionate nature.

Her children's activities brought her immense pride and joy. Joanna was a familiar face at Jessica's softball games and Ryan and Ethan's sporting events, always offering her support and encouragement. She also found pleasure in engaging with various puzzle activities and games on her phone and delighted in watching the birds that visited her garden.

Joanna’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, kindness, and the joy of everyday moments. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her generous heart, and the impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.
