Joan Boyd

Joan (Morton) Boyd, 87 year old Coweta resident, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, July 26, 2014 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, OK. Joan was born on May 24, 1927 in Haskell, OK to Tom and Katie May (Elliott) Morton. She was a graduate of Coweta High School. Joan worked as a waitress, truck driver and in laundry service at Coweta Manor Nursing Home. She was also a homemaker. Joan enjoyed playing bingo at the Oddfellows Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Ron Lamberson and Lee Morton, 1 sister, Betty Roberts and 1 brother, Tom Morton. Joan is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jeanette Lamberson of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 grandsons, Joe Lamberson and Michael Lamberson; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be from 1 PM - 2 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Services celebrating the life of Joan will at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Pastor Allan Swinson officiating.
