Jimmy D. "Peewee" Rogers

Jimmy D. "Peewee" Rogers, age 78, resident of Coweta departed this life on early Wednesday morning, November 27, 2019 in Broken Arrow, OK. Jimmy was born on November 7, 1941 in Berryhill, OK and was the son of Charlie Bell and Ruby Lee (Cunningham) Rogers. He was a graduate of Berryhill High School. Jimmy was a Mail Carrier in the Brookside area in Tulsa for the United States Postal Service for over 33 years. He married the love of his life, Betty Jo (Hurst) Rogers on January 12, 1996 in Arkansas. Jimmy was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Akdar Shrine. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing basketball and football. Jimmy loved his family unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Rogers of Coweta, OK; two sons, Tracy Rogers of Glenpool, OK and Tim Rogers and wife Lorie of Tulsa, OK; four daughters, Kelli Elrod and husband Harry of Mounds, OK, Sheri Maynard and husband Ken of Phoenix, AZ, Becky Waldroop of Coweta, OK, and Rachael Waldroop and husband Kevin of Phoenix, AZ; two brothers, Berneil Rogers and wife Mae of Jenks, OK and Gary Rogers of Texas; one sister, Marcelitta Kelley of Tulsa, OK; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Bell and Ruby Lee Rogers; his son, Michael Dean Rogers; his brothers, Donald Rogers and Billy Wayne Rogers; and his sister, Geraldine Click. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Jimmy to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607 or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019 and services celebrating Jimmy's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Randall Rogers officiating.
