Jerry Bruce Sampson, Sr., age 84, resident of Coweta, OK, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Wednesday afternoon, July 12, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, OK. He was born on September 26, 1938, in Tulsa, OK to Everett Thomas and Thelma Rose (Fairbanks) Sampson. Jerry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.

Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Central High School in Tulsa, OK. His work ethic was evident from a young age, beginning his career as a certified auto mechanic. He later transitioned into carpentry before dedicating 30 years of his life to the Public Service Company of Oklahoma as a construction supervisor. His dedication and commitment to his work were admired by all who knew him.

Jerry's life was not all work, though. He had a deep love for the outdoors, often spending his free time fishing and hunting. He also had a knack for working on cars and watches. However, the joy of his heart was playing dominoes with his grandchildren, the competition and laughter was a cherished family tradition. Jerry loved spending time with his family. He married the love of his life, Mary Ethel Campbell, on March 26, 1959, in Tulsa, OK. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with laughter, joy, and an unbreakable bond.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Ethel Sampson of the home in Coweta, OK; his daughter, Susan Thompson and her husband, Daniel of Owasso, OK; seven grandchildren, Katherine Schnell, Andrea Ashley, Rebecca Washington, Joseph Sampson, Josh Sampson, Connor Sampson, and Gracie Douglas; ten great-grandchildren, Micaiah Schnell, Lydia Schnell, Esther Schnell, Henry Ashley, Peter Ashley, Elaine Washington, WestLee Washington, Jadon Washington, Bruce Sampson, and Benjamin Sampson; his brother, ET "Tom" Sampson of Tulsa, OK; his sister, Donna (Sampson) Shorten of Tulsa, OK; his brother, Darrell Sampson and wife Judy of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Thomas and Thelma Rose Sampson, and his sons, Jerry Bruce Sampson, Jr. and David Wayne Sampson.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Services celebrating Jerry's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at the Broken Arrow Church of Christ in Broken Arrow, OK, with Scott Keele officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Eli Schnell, Vincent Ashley, Aaron Washington, Joseph Sampson, Josh Sampson, and Dick Ray. Honorary Pallbearers are Tom Sampson, Darrell Sampson, and Brian Mascho.

Jerry's life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and dedication. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
