On the evening of July 1, 2018, Mick passed away unexpectedly at his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was 54 years old. Mick was born on July 2nd, 1963, in Pico Rivera, California; the first child of Jerry and Dixie Mitchell. Mick grew up in Norman, OK before moving to Tulsa, where he graduated from Eastwood Baptist High School in 1981. Mick earned a degree in Tourism Management at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. While at NSU he met Marva Spears, and they were united in marriage on August 8, 1987. Mick and Marva were married for 30 years and were blessed with three daughters: Patty, Morgan and Bailey. Mick loved Marva deeply. Over the past decade, they suffered the loss of their daughter Morgan to cancer, then Marva's own fight with cancer, which ended with her passing in November 2017. Through it all, their love for each other, their faith in God, and the pride and joy they felt for their daughters never wavered. Mick worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, managing Schlotzsky's and Krispy Kreme restaurants in Tulsa before opening and managing his own CiCi's Pizza restaurant in Owasso. In his free time Mick loved to cook and create original recipes to share with family and friends. He and his friend Aaron Suntken formed the Bruce & Kyle BBQ Team, competing in BBQ contests around the region with great success. Mick held fast to his faith in the Lord, trusting Him in all things. He was a big-hearted man with an infectious sense of humor. Mick will be sorely missed by all who loved him and whose lives he touched. Mick was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ples and Louisa Trickey; his paternal grandparents, Bert Mitchell and Vivian Toliver; his wife Marva Jean Spears; and his daughter Morgan Leigh Mitchell. Mick is survived by his parents Jerry and Dixie Mitchell of Tulsa; his daughters Patty Ruth Mitchell of Tulsa and Bailey Cameryn Mitchell of Broken Arrow; and his brothers Kevin Layne Mitchell of Tulsa and Steven Ryan Mitchell of Tulsa. He is also survived by a large, loving family of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brown Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 210 S.
