Jerry Holmes

Jerry James Holmes, age 74, of Haskell, OK (formerly of Coweta, OK) passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on April 5, 1936 at Coal Creek in Wagoner County, OK to Lee Roy and Opal (Bean) Holmes. Jerry was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather to his family and a great friend to many. He attended school in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School in 1954. Jerry worked as a self-employed drywall worker for 56 years. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, sports and doing mechanic work. Jerry is lovingly survived by four sons, Keith Holmes of Chicago, IL, Preston Holmes of Broken Arrow, OK, Russell Heimbach of Broken Arrow, OK and Randy Heimbach of Broken Arrow, OK; one daughter, Shelia Speer of Auburn, WA; three brothers, Lee Roy Holmes of Tulsa, OK, Paul Holmes of Durant, OK and Frank Holmes of Coweta, OK; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lee Heimbach, two brothers, Jack Holmes and Alan Holmes and two sisters, Pauline Holmes and Martha Holmes. Funeral services for Jerry will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK. Family and friends may send condolences to Jerry's family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
