Jerilyn Kay Cherry

May 3, 1974 — April 30, 2021

Coweta

Jerilyn Kay Cherry, also known as “JK”, resident of Coweta and beloved mother of three, passed away peacefully Friday, April 30, 2021 at her home in Coweta, Oklahoma at the age of 46.  Jerilyn was born on May 3, 1974 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Bobby Lee Cherry and Connie Jeane (Piotrowski) Moncrief.  She attended Coweta Public Schools and was a 1992 Coweta High School graduate. She brought laughter with her everywhere she went.  Her bubbly personality, charisma, and wit enthralled everyone she met.  Before being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, Jerilyn prided herself in maintaining a healthy lifestyle with her children.  She liked to lift weights, play tennis, and go to pools and water parks with her children.  She liked lakes and beaches, and loved her boat, jet skis, and water sports.  Even as her illness progressed, she loved healthy food and ate salads every day.  However, she is best known for having a sweet tooth and taking her children for late night trips to get ice cream.  She started every morning with coffee.  She loved the smell of sunscreen, the warmth of the sunlight on her skin, and she always had the cutest sunglasses and sun hats.  She was authentic and unapologetically herself.  She was down-to-earth yet classy.  She stood up for what she knew was right, and may not agree with everybody, but she was not disagreeable.  She loved Saturday Night Live, and actresses Jennifer Anniston and Jenny McCarthy, and scary movies as well as Will Ferrell comedies.  She loved nature, her favorite flowers being calla lilies and sunflowers.  She liked to garden vegetables and fruits and take care of her pets. Jerilyn always had horses, dogs, and pet pigs. Her most fulfilling and prideful role was being a mother, however, and she wished for her children to be happy, stick together and care for and love each other.  Jerilyn is survived by her three children, Macy Hannah (23), Collin Plunk (19), and Evan Thomas (10).  Jerilyn was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Lee Cherry.  There are no services planned for Jerilyn at this time.  Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilycares.com.  The family of Jerilyn Kay Cherry entrusted her care and cremation to Brown Funeral Home & Cremations, 210 S. Broadway, Coweta, Oklahoma 74429, 918-486-5515.
