Jefferson A. Phillips

Jefferson A. "Jeff" Phillips, age 87, of Coweta, OK passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. Jeff was born on June 28, 1926 in Brooken, OK to Charles Lee and Emma Jane (Gann) Phillips. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. Jeff enlisted in the Army on September 21, 1944 and was honorably discharged on November 6, 1946. He and Delores Ross were united in marriage on April 15, 1949 in Las Vegas, NV and she preceded him in death. He worked as a water technician at the City of Coweta Water Treatment Plant. Jeff was a member of the American Legion Post #226 in Coweta, OK and the Veterans of Foreign Wars #4446 in Stigler, OK. He enjoyed fishing, antique cars and gospel singing. Jeff is survived by his son, Robert Phillips & wife, Peggy, of Hulbert, OK; his brother, Chuck Phillips & wife, Lydia of Hurricane, UT; two grandchildren, Chad Brown of Kansas and Brandy Small & husband, Stephen, of New Hampshire; one great granddaughter, Ella Grace; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and two sisters. Viewing will be Friday morning, December 27, 2013 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. A graveside service with full military honors will be at 2:00 pm Friday, December 27, 2013 at Fields Cemetery in Porum, OK with Pastor Charles Phillips officiating. Pallbearers are Chad Brown, Ronnie Osborn, Bob Ross, Gary Russell, Joe Russell and Johnny Thorton.
