Jean Ann Allen-Hargrove

Jean Ann Allen-Hargrove, age 76, resident of Verdigris went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, October 7, 2019 at her home in Verdigris, OK surrounded by her family. Jean Ann was born on September 23, 1943 in Muskogee, OK and was the daughter of Naomi Faye (Steen) and Mark Lemons. She was a 1961 graduate of Muskogee Central High School. Jean Ann continued her education by attending Claremore Junior College. She married Larry Joel Sims on October 20, 1964 in Stigler, OK and welcomed their daughter, Sandy Sue. Larry and Jean Ann remained close friends throughout her life. She then married James W. "Bill" Allen on November 24, 1967 in Nowata, OK and Bill preceded her in death in 2014. She then met Johnnie Lee Hargrove and they were married on May 22, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. Jean Ann worked as a bookkeeper in her earlier years, then she was Vice-President of Cornerstone Health Management for several years, and she retired from Quiet Heart Enterprises. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, and she loved spending time with her family. There are no words that could ever explain how big her heart was. Her contagious smile, passion for life, and her kindness toward everyone will be dearly missed. Jean Ann is survived by her husband, Johnnie Lee Hargrove of Verdigris, OK; 10 children, (her biological daughter) Sandy Massey and husband Mike of Coweta, OK, Jeanie Allen, Carol Allen-Koscheski and husband Rod, Julie Fox and husband Steve, Bobby Hargrove, Kristi Ogden and husband Buddy, Nikki Mayer, Shari Pilant and husband Jim, Angie Dorris, and Jesse Robert Allen; Jean Ann's grandchildren, Erica King and husband Kelly, Emeri Turman and husband Nate, Sydney Pipes, MaKayla Massey, Mallory Jones and husband Colby, Aauna Massey, Cassie Ramsey and husband Davey, Todd Koscheski and wife Erin, Ashley Swearengin, and Cristopher Frazier and wife Jessie; 16 other grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way; 2 sisters, Linda Lemons-Gillam and husband Ronnie and Peggy Jo Boothe and husband Perry; 1 brother, Mark Lemons, Jr. and wife Dee; her nieces and nephews, Sammye and Jimmy French, Mike and Amy Phillips, Leslie and Chris Spicer, Greg and Jennifer Phillips, Mark Lemons, II, and Benton Lemons; and numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends. Jean Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Allen; her parents, Naomi Faye and Mark Lemons; and her son, Tom Allen. A service celebrating Jean Ann's life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Vesica Piscis Chapel, 2188 N. Highway 167, Catoosa, OK.
