Janis Elaine Cole

Janis Elaine Cole, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 20, 2023, at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 74 years. She was born on May 12, 1949, in Henryetta, OK to Carl and Agnes (Moore) Arnett.

Janis is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Cole, with whom she shared a beautiful life in their home in Coweta, OK. Their bond was a testament to their enduring love, having been married since April 1, 1966. Janis was a loving mother to her daughters, Bonnie "Chrie" Martel and her husband Brian of New Hampshire, Angela Black and her husband Brian of Gore, OK, and Kimberly Cole of Coweta, OK. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Janis also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss her dearly.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Agnes Arnett, her grandson, David Tyler Cole, her sisters, Carlene and Shirley, and her brother, Randy.

Janis dedicated most of her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. She found joy in the everyday tasks of caring for her loved ones, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter. Her dedication to her family was evident in everything she did, and her love for them was immeasurable.

In her spare time, Janis enjoyed shopping and dining out for lunch. She found peace in nature, particularly in watching birds and hummingbirds. Janis was also a huge Elvis Presley fan, her love for his music bringing her much joy throughout her life.

Visitation for Janis will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. A service celebrating her life will take place at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK. Rev. Brody Morris will officiate the service. Janis will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK, where she will be remembered for her loving spirit and generous heart.
