Janice Lynn Brown

February 17, 1957 — January 15, 2018

Janice Lynn Brown, age 60, resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 15, 2018 at her home in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family. She was born on February 17, 1957 to Jerry and Shirley (Church) Emery in Tulsa, OK. Janice was raised in Tulsa and attended East Central High School. After graduating high school, she attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. She married the love of her life, Phillip D. Brown on July 11, 1984 and have had 33 wonderful years together. She worked at Oral Roberts University in Home Health Care and Wal-Mart until she decided to stay at home and take care of her family. Janice was a Godly woman that loved her family and friends with all she had to give. She always loved being a blessing to others and enjoyed brightening people's day. Her love for her children was beyond measure, she was proud of them all and her grandchildren had a special place in her heart. Janice was a faithful member of the Coweta Assembly of God, where she loved volunteering and singing on the worship team. She enjoyed singing, reading, gardening, taking care of her animals, especially her horses, traveling to New Mexico and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Shirley Emery. Janice is survived by her husband, Phillip Brown of the home in Coweta, OK; 4 children, Angie Goodman and husband, Travis of Grove, OK, Adam Brown and wife, Melissa of Jenks, OK, Rondell Brown and wife, Elaina of Coweta, OK and Lisa Horne of Durango, CO; 2 sisters, her twin sister Jara McKean and husband, Clair of Mounds, OK and Kathy Wolfe and husband, Ronnie of Sand Springs, OK; 14 grandchildren, Kaitlynn Brown, Lindsay Goodman, Lance Goodman, Kinsey Brown, Lyndzie Carmichael, Kailey Brown, Samantha Brown, Jordan Brown, Logan Carmichael, Abigail Horne, Avery Horne, Kannon Brown, Jace Brown and Kollen Horne; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services celebrating Janice's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Janice to The ALS Association, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022, www.alsa.org.
