September 18, 2012 James Matt "Jimmie" Shaw, formerly of Catoosa, passed from this life on September 13, 2012 in Claremore, OK at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 20 days. He was born on October 24, 1923 in Custer, Ok to William Earl and Lottie Bell (Jones) Shaw. After graduating from Rogers High School as part of their 2nd graduating class ever, Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a WWII Naval Seabee from were married in October of 1946. They were able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary before Wanda's passing in 2006. He worked as an industrial tile setter the most part of his life. Jimmie enjoyed spending time on his farm with his cattle, bowling, and square dancing. He was a great example of a man and will truly be missed. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lottie Shaw; loving wife, Wanda Shaw;
brothers, Vernal Shaw and Kelly Shaw; and sisters, Valda Brown and Earlene Reynolds. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Billie Sue Fenton, Darrell Brown, Joe Dent Shaw and Bobbie Jean Roberts; and numerous other family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Kennedy Kennard Funeral Home in Broken Arrow and a Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in their Last Supper Feature. www.kennedycares.com
