James D. Rose, age 69, of Catoosa, OK went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, October 31, 2010 at his residence with his loving family members at his bedside. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. James was born on October 24, 1941 in Waldron, AR to Robert and Ruth (Pease) Rose. He graduated from Waldron, AR High School in 1959. In 1960, James enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1964. He and Beatrice Stubbs were united in marriage on May 25, 1966 in Miami, OK. James worked as a fire and security technician at Honeywell Protection for 32 years until he retired in 1996. After retiring, he went to work at Johnson Control and worked there for 12 years. James currently owned and operated J.R. Fire and Security. He was a member of the Catoosa Christian Center. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the lake, working and he loved spending time with his family. James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beatrice of the home; one son, Gary Wayne Carter of Coweta, OK; one daughter, Billie Annette Whiteley of Catoosa, OK; six grandchildren, Gary Wayne Carter, Jr., Marshall Carter, DeAnna Bayouth, Christina Bayouth, Allix Rawls and Heather Rettedal; six great grandchildren, Zeke Lantroop, Brice Chitewood, Sarah Porter, Andrew Porter, Peyton Rettedal and Harrison Rettedal; two nephews; and other relatives. James is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth Rose and one sister, Melba Jean Bell. A memorial service for Mr. Rose will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Catoosa Christian Center in Catoosa, OK with Pastor W.J. Flowers officiating.
