James Thomas "Jim" Reese

James Thomas "Jim" Reese, age 94, resident of Broken Arrow went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK. Jim was born on November 15, 1924 in Muskogee, OK to John Robert and Hazel Adele (Shults) Reese. He was a graduate of Muskogee High School. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He enlisted in the Army on May 5, 1943 and was honorably discharged on March 15, 1946. Jim married the love of his life, Marie Francis Higgins on December 25, 1952 in Muskogee, OK. He worked at Shell Oil Company as an Engineer for many years. Jim was a member of South BA Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK where he enjoyed volunteering. Jim's greatest love was God, his family and being of service to others. He was an avid golfer. He was a member the Akdar Shrine of Tulsa and was a 32nd degree Master Mason of the Trinity Valley Masonic Lodge #1048 in Dallas, TX. Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie Reese of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; his brother-in-law, Leo Higgins and wife, Martha of Coweta, OK; two nephews, Wayne Higgins of Coweta, OK and George Higgins of North Carolina; and other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Hazel Adele Reese and five siblings, Robert Dallas Reese, Helen Virginia Wright, Bill Lewis Reese, Glen Raymond Reese and Marjorie Constance Decker. Viewing will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Graveside services celebrating Jim's life will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK with Pastor Scott Morie officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Julian Pope, Denny Anderson, Merrick Harmon, Richard Frueching, Wayne Higgins and George Allen Higgins.
