James Alvin Madison

James Alvin Madison, "Red", has gone truckin' on his last ride. He was born on May 12th, 1937, in Peoria, IL. He left for his final journey on May 2nd, 2017, while at his home in Catoosa, OK, and is now cruising the streets of heaven watching over us.
He graduated from Granite City Senior High in Granite City, IL, in 1955. He went on to he became a sharp shooter as well.
Alvin was a truck driver for 45 years. He logged over 4,000,000 miles accident free while working for USA Trucking even though he also drove extra wide loads during this time. He was also a trainer for 8 years where he taught others to drive just as safe. He always enjoyed telling stories to his family and friends about the crazy adventures he experienced during his years on the road. Alvin also enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with loved ones very much.
Alvin is preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Finis and Artrude Madison;
two brothers, Loren Madison and Carl Madison, who passed away in infancy; a nephew, Donald Madison; and a daughter, Robin Alexander.
Alvin leaves his loving memories behind to be cherished by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis Madison; his children, Patty and Scott Mason, of Pamona, IL; Dana and Frank Roberts of Drumright, OK; Paul "Buddy" and Patti Boner of Pontoon Beach, IL; Terry and Margaret Madison of Broken Arrow, OK; James "Jimmy" Jr and Sheli Madison of Catoosa, OK; as well as 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren with two more on the way.
Services for Alvin Madison will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 13th, 2017, at Catoosa Hills Christian Church located at 18415 E Admiral Pl, Catoosa, OK. He will have a military burial at Fort Gibson National Cemetery the following Monday with the time still to be determined.
