James Wyatt Lindsey

James Wyatt Lindsey, age 71, resident of Coweta passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on October 25, 1942 in Okemah, OK to Huff Floyd and Virginia (Walkup) Lindsey. James was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1964 to 1968. He and Edna Faye McCrary were married on December 13, 1969 in Coweta, OK. James worked at McDonnell Douglas as a Jet Engine Mechanic for 2 years, Braden Winch as an Inspector for 9 years and Baker Hughes as an Inspector for 5 years. He was a member of Coweta Assembly of God and the American Legion. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR and spending time outdoors. James was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Floyd Lindsey and 1 brother-in-law, Bob Massey. James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Edna Lindsey of the home in Coweta, OK; 1 sister, Merry Massey of Coweta, OK; 1 brother, Steve Lindsey of Wagoner, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6 PM - 8 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of James will be at 11 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lee, Steven Hinkle and Thomas Luscomb officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Stephen Williams, Greg Williams, Jonathan Williams, Clayton Williams, Wayne Steeley, Jeff Massey, Sheldon Lindsey and Tim Kelley. Honorary Pallbearers are Charlie Dobbins, Wyatt Walkup, Jack Riley, Jack Sanders, Wendell Hutson, Van Hutson, Jeffrey McCrary, Ted Don McCrary, Matthew Walkup, RD Evans and Dean Dickey.
