James Lenord Henry passed away the morning of January 13, 2018, at his home in Broken Arrow, OK. Lenord was born in Tioga, TX on April 18, 1924, to Beulah and James Henry. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Lenord worked as a long haul truck driver, and then in retirement traveled in his favorite RV. He is preceded in death by his wife Meacy Southern Henry, his parents, brother George Henry, granddaughter Angie Roberts Carder, and son-in-law Cleo Roberts. He is survived by daughter Brenda Roberts, son James Henry and his wife Karen, daughter Sandy Poe and her partner Becky Hays, daughter Evelyn Henry, son Floyd Henry and his wife Marcia, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-
great grandson and longtime companion Betty Winfrey. There was a special place in his heart for his friends and staff in the community at Brookdale Assisted Living where he lived the last six years of his life.
Lenord had a life well lived, and he was a happy man. His spirit will live on in his children, and they will fondly remember "Old Dad". He was cherished and loved by his family and friends, and he will be missed by many.
The family welcomes friends for visitation Wednesday January 17, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Kennedy/Kennard Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.
A graveside service will be held on Friday January 19, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Porter, OK cemetery.
