James Collins

James Collins, age 80, resident of Porter, OK passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on June 13, 1930 in Siloam Springs, MO to Bert and Dovie M. Collins. James was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather to his family. He grew up and attended school in Siloam Springs, MO. James and Betty Murrell were married on January 13, 1951 in Huntsville, Arkansas. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 9, 1952 and was honorably discharged on April 24, 1954. James worked as a cross country bus driver for MK&O Coach Lines in Tulsa, OK until he retired in 1973. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Springfield, MO. He enjoyed the nature, working on cars, doing yard, work and he loved spending time with his family. James is lovingly survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty of the home; three sons, Terry Collins of Siloam Springs, MO, James Raymond Collins and his wife, Robyn, of Tulsa, OK, and Michael Lynn Collins of Porter, OK; one brother, Otis Collins of Siloam Springs, MO; three sisters, Marie Crisp of Gainesville, MO; Maxine Madden of Willow Springs, MO, and Ruby Turnbow of Vanzant, MO; seven grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; friend, Lee Ann Baucom of Porter, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. James was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. There are no services planned for James Collins.
